15 Worthwhile Results of Doing Business

What makes doing business worth the time or money investments, considering the risks?

Doing business is always costly. Right now the expenses are adding up, even for businesses that thrive in high-price economies. Many are going out of their way to protect profits and insure liabilities.

This is often when creators and SBOs alike decide to close shop after months of success or failure.  Though, the resilient spirit says even a failure is a success.

To help keep a good mind, I’m sharing this list in case you need a few reasons to continue with your own goals.

  • You make an impact. (How many you impact isn’t important)
  • You gain financial awareness
  • You learn things about the world
  • It makes you build strategy skills
  • You stay engaged in a learning environment (it’s impossible to estimate the value of education)
  • The constant “shift and adjust” teaches flexibility
  • You are always making connections
  • The challenge to be responsible is always present
  • Service to the public is often the most noble work
  • You create income (possibly multiple streams, possibly for others)
  • Creativity is required for problem-solving
  • It is grounds for good leadership to grow
  • Organization is required for efficiency
  • You are frequently engaged in cooperation
  • Community is created

The list could be longer in its own right. I’m sure you could add a few important ones I left out. You possibly have a few have kept you going on your own entrepreneurial journey. Having a meaningful central purpose or two keeps us humans going.

Sometimes my client work is frustrating. Other times my personal life sucks up all chances of me growing my websites. Often, writing requires isolation and it’s difficult to get it-its difficult to have it. Recalling WHY I do it regularly gives me encouragement.

I started a business hoping to inspire others, but it’s kept me inspired along the way. The projects I’ve picked up have taught me new ways of thinking. The client’s I’ve consulted with have given me insight to my own ideas. Every opportunity I took to help someone on their way, they’ve helped me along my way. My vision is made more complete with every vision I help make complete.

The fact is, any journey has the potential to sharpen you. Even with many obstacles, a step a day gets you to a new place in a year. You never know how your view can change.

If you’re struggling right now, take time this month to look at how you are managing your finances and your stress. More posts on those later.

If doing business is still feasible during this season, then keep at it. If you’re one of the many who need to close up shop until you create a new opportunity, then do it. But don’t quit.

Keep creating. Keep connecting. It makes an impact.

What reasons keep you creating or providing services through tough business challenges?
